KISMET a Goa based fusion band that exhibits influences as diverse as blues, rock, classical, while at the same time remains rooted to the folk traditions of Goa and India. Seen here performing at the IFFI, totally live. Their music has a raw earthiness to it lending it a very unique and human feel.

Dr. Vijayan Almeida - Singer, songwriter, lead guitarist and flute player, is the driving force behind the band, his personality is reflected in his song writing style, and is gifted with a very unconventional and versatile guitar playing style. There is a distinct eastern sound to his guitar, influenced by his love for Indian ragas and folk music.

VINU DIAS is the youngest member the band full of the exuberance of youth, does backing vocals and bass. A Steve Harris fan, his quiet confidence and laid-back attitude has a calming influence on the band.

SATHISH KRISHNAMURTHY an accomplished carnatic classical percussionist rendered his skills on Kismet's maiden project. A regular on movie soundtracks, Sathish has accompanied maestros like Pt. Harisprasad Chaurasia and Dr. N. Rajam. On this album he has experimented with the mridangam, ghatam, kanjira, morsing (jews harp) and the Goan GHUMAT.
