Yograj is an accomplished Sitar player from the "Itawa Gharana," and is representative of the young breed of musicians in Goa today. Perhaps belonging to a family of traditional musicians, may have set Yograj in the right diection from an early age. Yograj started pubic performances from the tender age of 15. On this album, Yograj ascertains his adroitness with two "Ragas," "Nat Bgairav" the early morning melody, which lays emphasis on "Gandhar" and "Kamal Dhaivat" note, to unfold with "Aalap" and progress into "Swar" and "Meend," set to "Jhaptaal"; The other, "Jog" an improvisation of a late night melody starts with "Ektaal" and winds up with "Trital". The third is "Dhun" a melody from North India...
